The Listening Post Barrie began its pilot listening site at the Busby Centre in the spring of 2019 and is a volunteer staffed, 100% donation funded initiative.
We are mentored by the experienced listeners of the Listening Post Anchorage, Alaska. Many thanks also to the Listening Post Vancouver for their support and hospitality as we researched Listening Post possibilities for Barrie. Thanks also to JUST Listening and Sidewalk Talk for their training and support.
We began as an initiative of Burton Avenue United Church and were financially supported by a start up grant from the United Church of Canada Foundation that ended in 2022.
